When I first began writing A Recovery Journey, I did not know that I would move into the direction of creating a Web site, nor did I plan on writing ebooklets related to recovery. Both the site and the ebooklets were part of what seemed to me to a natural evolution in my recovery/awakening journey. Asking individuals to subscribe to the site was a result of one-among-many serendipitous moments when I realized that everything I have to share would just get lost in cyberspace if I didn't have real people aware of my work. The monthly theme-based newsletter accompanied with an ebooklet based on the theme will, I hope, build another awakening community on the Internet. The edges of the many awakening circles out there can only expand. My particular recovery journey was jump-started by my first fox-hole experience of bottoming out as I write in first chapter, "Awakening." That initial experience eventually enabled me to open up to all kinds of transformations and insights. As I dug more deeply into my recovery in my writing, I came to the conclusion that my book is not just about my alcoholism and my sobriety; it is about a "wider-hoop" journey of self-discovery and awareness. That in itself was another of the many epiphanies I continue to experience as I write. Finally, I believe it is important for all my readers to know that I have other interests as a freelance writer. I am committed to those interests but remain passionate about my recovery writing. Whenever I sit down to write about that recovery, I continue to feel as if I am returning to another beautiful and safe harbor of my psyche. Namasté
